Things to do in Paphos
If you are wondering what to do whilst you are on holiday in Paphos here are a selection of activities that everyone can enjoy.
Tomb of the Kings
These architectural ruins, the “Tomb of the Kings” were the place where higher administrative officers and distinguished personalities and their families were buried. These impressively decorative underground tombs date back to the fourth century BC and are a spectacular sight!
Kato Paphos Archaeological Park
This is a magnificient archaelogical site exhibiting some wonderful mosaics including the House of Dionysos, the House of Aoin, the House of Theseus and the House of Orpheus. The site is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list and includes sites and monuments from prehistoric times to the Middle Ages, whilst most remains dated to the Roman period.
The marvellous mosaic floors of four Roman villas from the impressive epicentre of the finds. The complex includes other important monuments, such as the Asklipieion, the Odeion, the Agora, the “Sa4ranta Kolones” (Forty Columns) Fortress, the “Limeniotissa” Ruins of early Christian Basilica and the “Tomb of the Kings”. The best way to view the site is by the wooden walk ways with viewing platforms, however, these are not suitable for those in wheelchairs. There is a small museum, free parking outside the venue, toilet and refreshment facilities.
Pafos District Museum
This museum exhibits a number of archaeological objects selected from interesting sites of the Pafos District area from the Pre and Historic Periods. The Pafos District Museum is located on Griva Digenis Street at the towns entrance, see their webite for more information.

Paphos Aphrodite Waterpark
Aphrodite Water Park in Paphos is set within natural landscaped grounds at the far easters end of the Kato Paphos costal road. Offering a wide and varied selection of rides, attractions and facilities for all ages. A good day out for all the family. Paphos Zoo
Situated 10 minutes drive from Coral Bay and approximately ** minute drive from Paphos, the Paphos bird and animal park is a great day out for children and adults alike. With a variety of mammals, birds, giraffs, zebras, smaller farm animals and an excellent reptile house. Its not a zoo as we know it but worth a visit. Don’t miss the parrot show held daily. Watersports & Diving
Paphos, Coral Bay and the surrounding areas are a haven for divers and watersport enthusiasts! There are two ship wrecks that are popular dive sites and diving schools that provide PADI courses and trips for those qualified. The tranquil waters at Coral Bay make it a wonderful place for divers and snorkellers of all levels. Watersports such as jet skiing and hiring speed boats are available from the Paphos Harbour. Pottery
If you are looking for ways to escape the midday sun, want to keep children entertained or simply enjoy painting potter the pottery barn is one to visit. Customers are able to paint their own pottery varying from cups and plates to small souveniers. I would suggest you call them for opening times and details of drying and firing times to ensure your pottery is ready to take home with you. A great activity for all from ages 2 to 102!
Paphos Harbour
Paphos Harbour has a very cosmopolitian atmosphere and is a great place to visit if you are looking for somewhere to eat in the many restaurants, want to watch the world go by in a cafe bar, look at the variety of boats moored or visit the spectacular ancient castle and ampitheatre. The archeological ruins of the Kato Paphos Archaeological Park are located here too so it truly does have something for everyone!
Coral Bay Beach
Coral Bay is located approximately 10km from Paphos and can be reached by taxi or bus no. 615 from the Harbour, going towards Coral Bay. It has a beautiful stretch of sandy beach where loungers are available for hire. There are restaurants, bars and shops in the main street of Coral Bay.
Bowling & Cinema
Again if you are looking for a short rest from the sun or need something to keep your children entertained a new entertainment complex has opened called Planet Adventure. It has a cinema, bowling alley, indoor play area and places to eat and drink. It is located just outside Paphos and can be reached by taxi for no more than * Euro (at time of print). Go Karting

Mini Golf
A great family activity for all ages is the mini golf course in Paphos. If you have a car is it just a 5 minute drive from the Alexander the Great Hotel but it is also easy to get to by bus, no. * from the Harbour or along the front. You can walk but it would take a good 50 minutes.
Golf
The mediterrean climate that Paphos has to offer make it an ideal place for golf enthusiasts. It is fast becoming a very popular golf destination and there are a few clubs to choose from.
Aphrodite Hills
Aphrodite Hills is an award winning golf course with an 18-hold championship standard golf course, a double ended 350m practice range, 4 target greens with bunkers, short game practice facilities, 3 academy holes, 2 residential professional golf instructors, a large clubhouse with a bar and restaurant. It also features one of th most spectacular par 3s in Europe at the 7th hole. A signature hole, it plays steeply down across a conyon onto a large green nestled in a grove of olive tees. With terraces that look our over this wonderfully picturesque course what more could you ask for.
Minthis Hills Golf Club
Set in the tranquil grounds of a twelfth century monastery this 18-hole championship course (71 par) is the oldest course in Cyprus. Having recently undergone extensive improvements by Mackenzie & Ebert and its fairways nestled in amongst mature trees and water features it is the perfect backdrop for a challenging game. At 550m above sea level its a course for all seasons. Minthis Hills also offers excellent practice facilities and an exceptional clubhouse with a superb restaurat and bar.
Secret Valley Golf Club
Secret Valley Golf course is tucked away in a superb valley near the legendary birthplace of Aphrodite, the goddess of love. Located 18km from Paphos and 49km from Limassoc (Lemesos), near “Petra tou Romiou”. This 18 hole course is set in the scenic hills surrounded by mature trees and dramatic rock formations. The course plays to a par 71 and measures 5904m.
Elea Golf Club
This challenging par 71 course, designed by the legendary Sir Nick Faldo is truly stunning and incorporates natural features and boasts spectacular views of the Mediterreanean. Set in the heart of the prestigious Elea Estate this course will help Paphos to be placed on the golfing map as a leading world class golf destination.
Paphos Driving Range
A recent addition to the Paphos golf scene is a new driving range located on the Tomb of the King Road. Easy to reach if you have a car however you can also get there by bus.
